Traditional interlaced timber ceilings, or Artesonado, blend structural carpentry with Islamic ornamental woodwork, flourishing between the 10th and 17th centuries. These ceilings showcase intricate geometry, carpentry, and timber engineering, harmonizing structural integrity with aesthetic beauty.A workshop at the IE School of Architecture, in collaboration with master carpenter ÁngelMaría Martín López, explored Lazo structures, focusing on their design and construction. Students crafted a 2x2 meter ceiling, gaining hands-on experience in traditional techniques.
