HOUSE IN CORK WOODS

2020

Location: Huelva, Spain

Visualisation by: Sadek Jourieh

Area: 120 m2

This small, linear house in the mountains of Huelva is a single-family retreat, designed as a continuous sequence of spaces and activities that are echoed in its structural system. The tile vaults vary in width and segmentation, adjusting the scale and rhythm of the interior surfaces according to the function of each room. Named the House of the Cork Woods, it combines traditional Andalusian carpentry with tile vaulting to create a floating, corrugated roof.
